Abstract

The study aims (1) to examine the role and efforts made by the police in law enforcement against drug abuse in Buleleng Regency, and (2) to investigate the factors that hinder the police in enforcing the law against drug abuse in Buleleng Regency. This type of research is empirical legal research. The research is descriptive in nature, utilizing both primary and secondary data sources. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and document studies, which will later be analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study show that (1) The role and efforts made by the police in law enforcement against drug abuse in Buleleng Regency include guidance and counseling for prevention and rehabilitation of drug abuse victims, and (2) The factors hindering the handling of drug cases in Buleleng Regency include the lack of public awareness about the dangers of drugs, resulting in many people still getting involved in drug trafficking.
