PERAN MEDIA SOSIAL DALAM MENJEMBATANI KETERLIBATAN PUSTAKAWAN DALAM PEMBELAJARAN JARAK JAUH SELAMA PANDEMI COVID-19 DI BALI

Abstract

Abstrak

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: (1) Peran media sosial dalam menjembatani

keterlibatan pustakawan dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh selama pandemi covid-19 di Bali; (2) Media

sosial yang digunakan oleh pustakawan dalam menjembatani pembelajaran jarak jauh selama

pandemi covid-19 di Bali; dan (3) Kendala yang dihadapi pustakawan dalam menggunakan media

sosial dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh selama pandemi covid-19 di Bali. Penelitian ini berlokasi di Bali,

dengan populasi berbagai jenis perpustakaan di Bali dan sampel sejumlah 100 responden

pustakawan yang ditarik dengan teknik random sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner,

pedoman wawancara dan pedoman observasi. Data kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil

penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa: (1) Media sosial memiliki peran yang sangat signifikan dalam

menjembatani keterlibatan pustakawan dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh selama pandemi covid-19 di

Bali yang ditunjukkan melalui 91,9 % responden menggunakan media sosial; (2) Media sosial yang

digunakan oleh pustakawan seperti instagram (66,9 %), WA (61,3 %), facebook (57,1 %), youtube

(38,8 %), twitter (18 %), telegram (11,7 %) dan sisanya seperti line dan tiktok; (3) Kendala yang

dihadapi adalah dalam membuat desain digital content yang informatif, edukatif, kreatif dan atraktif.

Merujuk pada pentingnya peran media sosial selama pandemi sebagai saluran penghubung antara

pustakawan dengan pemustaka maka pustakawan wajib memiliki skill membuat desain dan editing

digital content.

Abstract

The aims of this study were to determine: (1) the role of social media in bridging the

involvement of librarians in distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic in Bali; (2) social media

used by librarians in bridging distance learning during the covid-19 pandemic in Bali; and (3)

Obstacles faced by librarians in using social media in distance learning during the COVID-19

pandemic in Bali. This research is located in Bali, with a population of various types of libraries in Bali

and a sample of 100 librarian respondents drawn by random sampling technique. Data were collected

through questionnaires, interview guidelines and observation guidelines. The data were then analyzed

descriptively. The results of the study reveal that: (1) Social media has a very significant role in

bridging the involvement of librarians in distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic in Bali as

shown through 91,9 % of respondents using social media; (2) Social media used by librarians such as

instagram (66.9 %), WA (61.3 %), facebook (57.1 %), youtube (38.8 %), twitter (18 %), telegram (

11.7%) and the rest such as line and tiktok; (3) The obstacle faced is in designing informative,

educative, creative and attractive digital content. Referring to the important role of social media during

the pandemic as a liaison channel between librarians and users, librarians must have the skills to

design and edit digital content.
