Through systematic literature review and semi-in-depth interviews with five managers of global hotel companies, this study employed thematic analysis. The study found that although Generation Z has relatively mastered technical skills (hard skills), they still have difficulty in understanding and implementing standard operating procedures (SOP) consistently and completely. On the other hand, soft skills such as communication, initiative, work motivation, and the ability to build relationships with customers are also still relatively low. This gap is a major challenge in increasing the employability of vocational high school graduates as Generation Z in the digital era and Industry 4.0. Therefore, the development of vocational high school curriculum needs to be carried out holistically by integrating project-based learning, problem-solving, and instilling the values of empathy, responsibility, and digital literacy. Close collaboration between the world of education and industry is the key to creating graduates who are adaptive, professional, and ready to face changes in the world of the tourism and hospitality industry.
I Gusti Ayu Putu Wita Indrayani Copyright (c) 2025 I Gusti Ayu Putu Wita Indrayani https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-06-29 2025-06-29 2 1 1 10 The Role of Local Wisdom in the Development of Tourism Villages in West Nusa Tenggara: A Systematic Literature Review https://semnas-fmipa.undiksha.ac.id/index.php/IJEI/article/view/5013
This study aims to identify and analyze the role of local wisdom in the development and management of tourism villages in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The review is driven by the importance of integrating local values into the development of sustainable community-based tourism. Data were collected from 25 selected articles published between 2020 and 2025 and analyzed using a thematic synthesis approach based on five main research questions. The findings indicate that local wisdom plays a crucial role in cultural preservation, sustainable natural resource management, and enhancing the attractiveness and identity of tourism villages. Active community participation particularly through tourism awareness groups (Pokdarwis) and youth involvement is key to sustaining tourism villages. Nevertheless, several challenges remain, such as limited infrastructure, low human resource capacity, and weak coordination among stakeholders. Proposed strategies include community training, the development of culture-based master plans, digital promotion, and strengthened pentahelix collaboration. These findings are expected to serve as a foundation for formulating inclusive and sustainable policies and practices for the management of tourism villages based on local wisdom in NTB.
Pahriah Dwi Pangga Sukainil Ahzan Jamaludin Adi Suriatno Copyright (c) 2025 Pahriah, Dwi Pangga, Sukainil Ahzan, Jamaludin, Adi Suriatno https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-06-30 2025-06-30 2 1 11 22 The Role of Community Participation in Education and the Integration of Local Wisdom in School/University Management: A Systematic Literature Review https://semnas-fmipa.undiksha.ac.id/index.php/IJEI/article/view/5088
educational management in relation to character education. The study was conducted using the SLR approach.Article search using Publish And Perish with the keywords community participation, local wisdom in schools/universities from publications between 2015 and 2025, totaling 50.The articles used as primary data are those published in nationally accredited Sinta journals and reputable international journals.Based on the screening results, twenty articles suitable for review were obtained. The results show that community participation in education plays an important role in improving the quality, relevance, and sustainability of educational institutions.Through the involvement of parents, community leaders, the business world, and various community elements, schools and universities can gain support in terms of resources, ideas, and social legitimacy that strengthen the teaching and learning process. This participation also encourages the creation of a more inclusive, transparent, and responsive educational atmosphere to the needs of the surrounding environment. The integration of local wisdom in school and university management serves to enrich educational values with the culture, traditions, and indigenous knowledge of the community.By incorporating local wisdom into the curriculum, governance, and learning activities, educational institutions not only preserve cultural identity but also shape students' character to better appreciate local values, adapt to changes, and possess a strong sense of social responsibility. In the end, the collaboration between community participation and the integration of local wisdom becomes an important foundation for building a quality, relevant education system that is deeply rooted in the life of the community.
Asthadi Mahendra Bandhesa Ni Wayan Noviani Ni Made Darmiyanti Desak Putu Jeni Wiwin Kusrianto Copyright (c) 2025 Asthadi Mahendra Bandhesa, Ni Wayan Noviani, Ni Made Darmiyanti, Desak Putu Jeni, Wiwin Kusrianto https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-06-30 2025-06-30 2 1 23 31 The Application of Strategic Management in the Preservation of Local Culture: A Literature Review on the Tiba Meka Ritual in Manggarai https://semnas-fmipa.undiksha.ac.id/index.php/IJEI/article/view/5093
The preservation of local culture has become increasingly important in the face of globalization, which threatens the sustainability of local traditions. This study aims to explore the application of strategic management in the preservation of local culture, focusing on the Tiba Meka Ceremony in Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara. This ceremony is a traditional guest reception that is rich in symbolic and cultural values but faces challenges due to social changes and the influence of modernization. The research examines how strategic management can help design structured and sustainable preservation policies through the integration of education, tourism, and digital technology sectors. Through a managerial approach, the cultural values embedded in the Tiba Meka Ceremony can be incorporated into the educational curriculum to shape students' character, as well as be utilized in culture-based tourism that prioritizes sustainability. The use of digital technology also becomes an important strategy for documenting and promoting this tradition to a wider audience. The findings indicate that with collaboration among local communities, the government, and the private sector, the Tiba Meka Ceremony can be preserved in a way that remains relevant in the modern era without losing its cultural essence. This study contributes to the development of a management model based on local wisdom that can be applied in the preservation of culture in Manggarai and other regions.
Edwin Edwin Ismail Nasar Luh Nitra Aryani Timoteus Ajito Ahmad Walela Copyright (c) 2025 Edwin Edwin, Ismail Nasar, Luh Nitra Aryani, Timoteus Ajito, Ahmad Walela https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-06-30 2025-06-30 2 1 32 41 Integrating Local Wisdom Values into Educational Management: A Literature Review on Character Development Aspects https://semnas-fmipa.undiksha.ac.id/index.php/IJEI/article/view/5100
This study systematically examines the integration of local wisdom into educational management with a focus on character education.
